Sean ‘Diddy’Combs will now stay in federal prison until March 2, 2028, about six weeks later than his previous release date of Jan. 21, 2028, Page Six confirmed. The change comes as Diddy faces a string of reported disciplinary problems at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, including an alleged fight last Friday, Oct. 9, with Jamaican drug lord Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke that unnamed sources told TMZ left Combs with a head injury.
The math lines up. TMZ reported that Diddy lost 41 days of good conduct credit, which federal inmates earn to shorten their sentences. In a leap year like 2028, Jan. 21 plus 41 days lands exactly on March 2. Each reported violation now has a cost on the calendar.
What happened to Diddy at Fort Dix?
The explanations still conflict. TMZ reported that Diddy was taken by ambulance to an outside medical facility around 1 a.m. Saturday. People magazine confirmed he was hospitalized, and NewsNation reported that he was conscious, speaking and back at the prison before sunrise.
On Oct. 13, a source told Page Six that Diddy hit his head on the bunk above him and was doing much better. A day later, multiple unnamed sources told TMZ the injury came from a fight with Dudus during Diddy’s daily break from solitary confinement. TMZ’s sources said Dudus and other inmates blamed Diddy for prison raids that took away their contraband phones. The Bureau of Prisons has not confirmed either account, citing privacy, safety and security.
Why was Diddy’s release date pushed back?
TMZ reported that Combs has been written up several times for alleged fights and phone violations. Along with the 41 days of good conduct credit, he reportedly lost 400 days of commissary privileges, which inmates use to buy snacks and other items. A Bureau of Prisons union official previously told Complex that Diddy received reports for fighting on July 31, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
NewsNation reported that Diddy was placed in solitary confinement Oct. 1. That came after NBC News reported in September that, according to four anonymous inmates, Combs had other prisoners cooking, cleaning, doing his laundry and giving him massages. NBC also reported he had access to premium liquor, antidepressants and a contraband phone. Combs’ team has disputed that reporting.
Who is Christopher Dudus Coke?
Coke once led Jamaica’s Shower Posse from the Tivoli Gardens community in Kingston. After his 2010 capture and extradition, he pleaded guilty in 2011 in New York to racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to commit assault. In 2012, he was sentenced to 23 years in prison and ordered to forfeit $1.5 million. TMZ’s sources describe him as the real power among inmates at Fort Dix.
What has been confirmed?
The new release date is confirmed by Page Six. The hospital trip is confirmed by People. The fight with Coke and the reported disciplinary losses come from unnamed sources and have not been confirmed by prison officials.
Combs’ representatives said earlier this week that they were aware of the reports, were working to confirm the circumstances and that his health and well-being were their main concern. Diddy , 56, is serving 50 months after a jury convicted him in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, including charges involving his former girlfriend Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy and has denied wrongdoing.
Whether the injury came from a bunk bed or a brawl, Diddy’s time at Fort Dix keeps getting longer, one reported violation at a time.
