The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in a Florida prison if he is convicted. His attorney, Richard L. Cooper, confirmed the charge to TMZ and said the defense anticipates the case will be dismissed by prosecutors, adding that he expects the matter to be resolved next week.

According to the allegations, a woman called police claiming DeenTheGreat became physical with her following a verbal disagreement on the yacht. She said he told her not to speak with other men present and later removed her from the boat after other men attempted to talk to her. The woman also alleged that DeenTheGreat grabbed her forearm in an attempt to stop her from recording the interaction, leaving what she described as a minor scratch.

The yacht’s owner provided police with security footage from the incident. According to police, that footage showed DeenTheGreat reaching for the woman’s phone multiple times as a struggle over the device took place, during which the woman could be seen lowering herself to the floor in an attempt to stop him from taking it and to get away from him. Officers said that when DeenTheGreat was questioned at the dock upon the yacht’s return, the account he gave did not match what investigators later observed in the footage.
