When actress Cassidy Clarke appeared as the love interest in D4vd’s music video for Here With Me, it was a professional acting job. Nothing more. But as the singer’s legal troubles escalated dramatically in recent weeks, Clarke found herself fielding a growing number of messages from people who assumed she had some ongoing connection to him.
Her response was direct. Clarke posted a video to TikTok making clear that she has no relationship with D4vd, no contact with him and no knowledge of or involvement in the circumstances surrounding his arrest. She said she had not known who he was before the shoot, that she took the role as a working actor and that she no longer follows him on social media. She also expressed strong support for the family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 15-year-old at the center of the murder case against D4vd.
What D4vd is charged with
D4vd was arrested in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose dismembered remains were discovered approximately seven months ago in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to him. He has pleaded not guilty to multiple serious charges including first-degree murder, lewd and lascivious acts with a person under 14, and mutilation of a body. He is currently held in custody without the possibility of bail.
At a court appearance on April 23, prosecutors stated they had reviewed his phone and found a significant amount of child sexual abuse material. Whether any of that material involves Hernandez has not yet been confirmed publicly.
If convicted on all charges, D4vd faces either the death penalty or life in state prison without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will pursue capital punishment, with that decision expected at a later stage in the proceedings.
The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez
On April 21, the family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez issued a public statement directed at the Los Angeles Police Department and the District Attorney’s office, thanking investigators and prosecutors for their efforts in pursuing the case. The statement marked the first time the family had spoken publicly since the case drew widespread attention.
Clarke echoed that support in her own video, making clear that her sympathies lie entirely with the Hernandez family and that she wants no association with D4vd or anything connected to him going forward.
