4 fan favorites return to Netflix this August

Summer binge watching season is far from over. Netflix is rolling out a packed slate of new and returning shows throughout August, giving fans plenty of reasons to stay glued to their screens.

Four beloved series are heading back for fresh seasons this month, including a ranch drama, an auto shop comedy, a beachy adventure saga and a family sitcom. For those craving something new, the streamer is also debuting a reality dating show centered on a familiar face from the world of reality TV, along with two literary adaptations pulled from acclaimed novels.

Adding to the excitement, People Inc., the parent company of PEOPLE, is set to release a slate of original video series on Netflix this month from PEOPLE, InStyle, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure and Entertainment Weekly.

Here are the 10 shows worth adding to your watchlist in August 2026.

1. Best Medicine season 1 (Aug. 4)

This medical comedy follows a socially awkward doctor in a small town who defies everyone’s low expectations to become exactly what the community needs. The series is an American reimagining of a beloved British show that ran for nearly two decades overseas. A second season has already been confirmed.

2. Let’s Marry Harry (Aug. 5)

A reality star known for his appearances on other popular dating shows returns to the genre, this time declaring he’s ready to settle down. He enlists his famous friends to help narrow down 20 hopeful contestants in a format inspired by a long running dating franchise, complete with elimination rounds and a dramatic finale choice between two frontrunners.

3. One Hundred Years of Solitude part 2 (Aug. 5 and 26)

Netflix‘s ambitious adaptation of the Nobel Prize winning novel continues with its second installment, chronicling a family across generations as they build a town and navigate sweeping change woven with magical realism. The first part earned widespread critical praise following its 2024 debut.

4. My Life with the Walter Boys season 3 (Aug. 6)
