Jammiah Broomfield, who shares a child with rapper Kodak Black, was arrested in Fort Lauderdale on April 14 and booked into the Broward County Main Jail on multiple charges including trafficking methamphetamine, resisting an officer without violence, and driving with a suspended license.
The arrest came after detectives recognized a black Tesla that had previously fled from law enforcement earlier in the month. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle again, the driver allegedly accelerated, drove recklessly through the area, and eventually abandoned the car and attempted to flee on foot. Detectives caught up with Broomfield after a brief chase and took her into custody.
What investigators found
A search of the vehicle turned up a plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The material weighed approximately 29.5 grams. Investigators also found over $1,000 in cash on Broomfield, which they noted was consistent with street-level narcotics activity based on their assessment.
According to a probable cause report, Broomfield told officers she had retrieved the drugs on behalf of her boyfriend. The trafficking charge remains pending, with bond set at $50,000. Court records also show additional charges tied to probation violations from prior cases. Broomfield is currently on probation until 2030 stemming from a prior grand theft conviction.
She remains in custody at a detention facility in Pompano Beach as the case continues to move through the court system.
Kodak Black responds publicly
News of the arrest prompted a public response from Kodak Black, who turned to social media to address the situation and speak to his role in the lives of his children and their mothers. Without directly addressing the legal specifics of Broomfield’s case, the rapper shared screenshots of financial transfers and wrote at length about his commitment to providing for his family regardless of the state of his personal relationships with the mothers of his children.
His posts reflected visible frustration, touching on themes of financial responsibility and what he described as a lack of recognition for his efforts. He framed himself as a consistent provider who fulfills his obligations even amid friction, referencing child support payments and other forms of financial support he said he extends without complaint.
The social media activity added a public dimension to what is otherwise an ongoing legal matter, drawing attention from fans and commentators who have followed both figures over the years.
A case still developing
The charges against Broomfield are serious. Methamphetamine trafficking in Florida carries significant mandatory minimum penalties, and the additional probation violations compound the legal exposure she faces. With bond set and the case pending, the outcome will depend on how proceedings unfold in the weeks ahead.
Kodak Black has not made any formal statement through legal representation, and no additional comment beyond his social media activity has been reported as of this writing.
