Casino in Hollywood, Florida, in an incident that left him hospitalized with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The shooting took place in the valet area of the property shortly after 7 p.m. local time. The 34-year-old was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where he was reported to be stable and under close medical observation.
Law enforcement officers were already in the vicinity when the shooting occurred, which allowed them to respond quickly. Two individuals were detained at the scene and an investigation was opened. Authorities confirmed the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening without releasing further details about the circumstances that led to the shooting.
Moments before the gunfire
Photographs taken in the minutes immediately preceding the shooting showed Offset outside the venue in a relaxed and engaged mood. He was seen shaking hands with fans, posing for photographs, and chatting with people who had approached him near the entrance to the property. Witnesses described the interaction as warm and entirely ordinary, which made the sudden eruption of violence that followed all the more jarring to those who were present.
Video footage that circulated online after the incident showed officers responding rapidly to the valet area, restraining multiple individuals in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
A painful backdrop
The shooting arrives more than three years after the death of Takeoff, a fellow member of the rap group Migos, who was shot and killed in 2022 outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. He was 28 years old. A suspect was arrested and charged in connection with the case, though that individual has maintained his innocence and the trial has faced repeated delays. Proceedings are currently expected to begin later this year.
Takeoff’s death effectively ended Migos as a functioning group. Offset, Takeoff, and Quavo had been one of the most commercially successful rap acts of their era. Following the tragedy, each member shifted focus to solo work.
Offset has remained active in that capacity. His third studio album, released in the summer of 2025, charted in the top twenty. He has also put out collaborative projects in recent years and maintained a consistent presence in the music industry despite a period marked by personal upheaval.
A difficult few years off stage
Beyond the loss of Takeoff, Offset’s personal life has undergone significant change. His marriage to rapper Cardi B, which began in 2017, came to a formal end when she filed for divorce in 2024 after years of an intermittent relationship marked by separations and reconciliations. The split was described by those close to the situation as the result of a gradual growing apart rather than any single event.
The divorce proceedings grew contentious when reports emerged that Offset had made substantial financial demands as a condition of finalizing the separation. Those demands reportedly included a significant cash payment, coverage of outstanding federal and state tax liabilities totaling more than two million dollars, and the transfer of a property. Court records indicated that a portion of the tax debt was eventually resolved, though a meaningful balance remained outstanding. Cardi B responded to the reported demands publicly and in pointed terms.
The couple shares children together and both have stated that their focus moving forward is on co-parenting.
As of Monday evening, Offset’s representatives confirmed he was receiving care and that his condition was stable. No further details about the investigation or the identities of those detained had been released.
