Most supercars in 2026 are getting heavier, softer, and more screen-dependent. The Donkervoort P24 RS goes in the complete opposite direction. Unveiled in January at the Rétromobile show in Paris, this handbuilt Dutch machine is arguably the purest driver’s car to debut this year — raw, analog, and unapologetically extreme. With only 150 units being produced globally, more than 50 were already sold at the time of its reveal.
The P24 RS is the 20th model in Donkervoort’s 48-year history and the most powerful the brand has ever built. Named after CEO Denis Donkervoort’s daughter Phébe, born in 2024, every single unit is hand-assembled at the company’s facility in Lelystad, Netherlands. Pricing starts at roughly $353,000 before taxes — and available slots are disappearing quickly.
The P24 RS Packs a Brutal New Heart
For decades, Donkervoort relied on Audi’s beloved five-cylinder engine. The P24 RS breaks from that tradition entirely. Under its vented hood sits a heavily modified 3.5-liter twin-turbo Ford EcoBoost V6 — the same base unit found in the second-generation Ford GT — rebuilt from the ground up with custom turbos, 3D-printed exhaust manifolds, forged internals, and proprietary Donkervoort software.
The result is staggering. Drivers can choose between 400, 500, or 600 horsepower outputs via a dial inside the cabin — a feature Donkervoort calls Power To Choose. At full output, the P24 RS produces 590 lb-ft of torque and rockets from zero to 124 mph in just 7.4 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 186 mph. All of that power goes to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. No automatic option. No hybrid assist. Just pure mechanical fury.
Lighter Than a Miata, Faster Than Most Hypercars
What makes the Donkervoort P24 RS genuinely jaw-dropping is not just the power — it is what that power does in a car that weighs only 1,719 pounds dry. That is lighter than the lightest Mazda MX-5 Miata, which tips the scales at around 2,366 pounds. The power-to-weight ratio lands at an astonishing 770 horsepower per ton, a figure that puts the P24 RS in hypercar territory without a single kilowatt of electrification.
The chassis pairs alloy tubing with structural carbon-fiber elements, including an industry-first single-piece carbon-fiber front subframe. Tractive active dampers handle suspension duties at all four corners, paired with a hydraulically adjustable ride-height system. Cornering grip reaches 2.3G thanks to custom Nankang CR-S tires developed exclusively for this car.
Built for Drivers Who Want Zero Filters
The interior of the P24 RS strips everything back to what actually matters behind the wheel. Matte carbon fiber dominates every surface. There is no infotainment touchscreen — just physical buttons, dials, and an optional bracket for an iPad Mini if the driver insists on navigation. Lightweight Recaro seats accommodate drivers up to six-foot-seven, and six-point harnesses are standard for both road and track use.
Even power steering and ABS are listed as optional extras — a deliberate choice that reflects the Donkervoort philosophy of keeping the driver fully connected to the road at all times. The P24 RS is not trying to protect you from the experience. It is designed to make you feel every single bit of it.
