Former LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu is out of the rehabilitation center and has enrolled in classes at LSU, coach Les Miles confirmed Tuesday.
Mathieu is not eligible to play for the Tigers, and is footing his own bill as an LSU student.
“I’m just focusing on academics right now and really myself,” Mathieu told the LSU student newspaper, The Daily Reveille. “I’m not worried too much about football.”
Mathieu, a Heisman Trophy finalist last season, was dismissed from the team on Aug. 10 after he reportedly failed multiple drug tests. He was in a drug and alcohol rehab center led by former NBA star John Lucas in Houston.
