One day after Jay-Z announced that he has singed Roc Nation to Warner/Chappell Music, Queen Bey also signed a publishing deal with the company. Jay’s publishing deal will allow him to have the rights to all of his music since 2004. Jon Platt, who worked at EMI Publishing and worked with Bey in the past, sealed the deal that would give Bey the rights to her forthcoming music. Warner/Chappell not only has a deal with Jay ad Roc Nation but Katy Perry, Green Day, fun., Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, and more. Read more about Bey’s deal below.
Beyonce announced the news saying, “It’s an honor to join Warner/Chappell Music and to continue working with my friend Jon Platt. I trust his vision and admire his professionalism, and I look forward to our partnership.” These huge deals are clearly part of the reason why Jay and Bey are such a power couple! It seems like this year will be the year of Queen Bey, first the Super Bowl, then her documentary, her tour, an anticipated upcoming album, and now a huge deal.
