Adeline Michèle was born and raised in Paris, France of a Caribbean father (from the island of Martinique) and a French mother. Her family was intensely passionate about music, and she began singing at a very young age. At only five years old, Adeline auditioned and was accepted into a professional choir, the prestigious Petits Ecolier Chantant de Bondy Children’s Choir. With Petits Ecolier, she rapidly learned to harness her voice, train her ear and had her first recording studio and stage experiences. The choir made many appearances on popular French TV shows, including the life-changing experience of singing back up for Michael Jackson on live television. The choir also backed Cesaria Evora and many other major French recording artists and had starring roles in musicals that toured all over Europe. At eight years old, Adeline recorded an album with a group of eight other children. The successful single “Change Le Monde”, a cover of Michael Jackson’s “Heal the world” in French, led to a series of high profile concerts and engagements across the country.
